REMIX WEDNESDAY

Some hear a song as it is and ask "why so dope?" Others hear a song as it could be and ask "why not doper?" On REMIX WEDNESDAYs, ITV highlights the work of those talented musicians who re-imagine the work of other talented musicians to the benefit of us all. Today's selection:

Hoodie Allen's "You Are Not a Robot" off his Pep Rally Mixtape. Mixtapes blur the lines between remixes and original songs built around a sample, but this made REMIX WEDNESDAY because it's so clearly derivative of "I am Not a Robot" by Marina and the Diamonds.

Chilly Gonzales's rework of "Rollin' & Scratchin'" by Daft Punk. You may recognize Chilly's keyboard from the iPad commercial that features his song "Never Stop." He does a nice job with the track and works in some vocals by Sylvester Stallone as Rocky. If you like that, you'll probably like the video featuring clips from the Rocky films. After watching it, I was compelled to add this song to my jogging playlist.
