J. Crew's New "Neck and Sleeve" Dress Shirts

Arguably, the big news regarding J. Crew this week is its shareholders' rejection of the company's settlement in a lawsuit over its proposed sale to two private equity firms. I could get into details, but I think I've bored you enough already. If you own stock in J. Crew and are hearing about this for the first time, call your lawyer.

The other J. Crew news this week is that they now sell dress shirts in specific neck sizes and sleeve lengths. Meaning that J. Crew's well-made, reasonably priced, and increasingly stylish dress shirts now fit better. So tall slim guys don't have to settle for shirts that fit well in the body but come up short in the sleeve, and shorter broad-shouldered guys don't have to settle for shirts that fit well in the body but length-wise resemble pajamas that they're still growing into.

Now that's a refusal to settle that I'm happy to discuss and that I fully support.

J. Crew Neck and Sleeve Dress Shirts ($75.00-$79.50) available @ j.crew.com.
